Practice needs more than theory.

„The future will not skip the power.“

The inverter is a key component in e- mobility. This is where the vehicle defines its DNA. Even electric motor driven actuator such as those currently used on steering servos, brake servos and in other chassis systems are equipped with control units.

Using signal level based HiL systems to test the functionality of power electronics provides only limited results.  “Power” is skipped in such setups which is far away from the real world.

Not with AVL SET e-motor emulation: This test topology permits the drive inverter and the control unit to be verified separately from the e-motor, without switching off the power stages and replacing them with complicated models. This brings huge advantages: No changes to the test object, no model development, no model validation, and no hidden costs. You can start right away! This is Power – HiL. And the best thing is all this with real use-conditions that bring real results. And fault scenarios such as phase errors; errors in the rotor sensor, adjustment errors or motor tolerances are simply stimulated. The decisive advantage: A clear seperation between the mechanical and electrical world. Advantage? The lower complexity, because only the electronic components themselves are tested. And the decoupling of mutual dependencies in the project plan.

Who does not want that? Performing ten times faster – as our customers confirm.

Automotive, off-road, e-bike. The revolutionary test methods for technology leaders.

Many different functions and variables need to be tested. Fault scenarios. Safety aspect such functionality under the auspices of ISO 26262. Clear results are mandatory here. And the boundary conditions must correspond to reality. This is why manufacturers and suppliers rely on AVL SET. This drastically reduces the number of required vehicle tests. Costs can be cut and development cycles can be significantly shortened. At the same time the test coverage is increased. In the automotive sector, in the production of off-road vehicles – and even of e-bikes.
