The inverter is a key component in e- mobility. This is where the vehicle defines its DNA. Even electric motor driven actuator such as those currently used on steering servos, brake servos and in other chassis systems are equipped with control units.

Using signal level based HiL systems to test the functionality of power electronics provides only limited results.  “Power” is skipped in such setups which is far away from the real world.

Not with AVL SET e-motor emulation: This test topology permits the drive inverter and the control unit to be verified separately from the e-motor, without switching off the power stages and replacing them with complicated models. This brings huge advantages: No changes to the test object, no model development, no model validation, and no hidden costs. You can start right away! This is Power – HiL. And the best thing is all this with real use-conditions that bring real results. And fault scenarios such as phase errors; errors in the rotor sensor, adjustment errors or motor tolerances are simply stimulated.
